"Is this thing on?"
Helloooo!! Where did everybody go?? Sorting the Halloween candy?? I'm sitting here all alone eating my ice cream...... Where's the support?? Where's the love?? Don't make me have to join an AA meeting! "Hello. My name is Linda, and I love my extra 50 pounds so much I just can't let them go..."

lol . . . in this family it's the food addicts helping the food addicts . . . or not.
My birthday came and went. I am not at my goal weight. It's a bit disappointing, but today I decided to give it another go. I want to lose 5 pounds by Thanksgiving. That's 5 pounds in 18 days!
Anyone else making a specific goal?
hmmm, I'm grocery shopping tomorrow. I could buy salads, chicken, and SlimFast bars. I'll meet your challenge . . . 5 pounds in 18 days . . . starting tomorrow. :)
Okay, I'm in! 5-pound loss by the 27th. Throw out the cobbler and the ice-cream!
I'm so glad to having the company! I had a nice salad before coming to work. I'm debating whether to weigh each day or at the end of each week. If I eat a salad and lose a pound, I'll be encouraged to stick with it. If I gain weight, I might give in to the chocolate!
I'll sip on my water and mull the thought over for a bit.
Let me know what y'all are planning to do.
Okay, I had a Dr. Pepper this morning, but that's the only sugar I drank today so far. I drink only water at work even though the fridge offers a variety of soft drinks free. They also keep a community drawer of chocolate in MY desk. I resist it most days. Luckily the chocolate will be kept in the kitchen when we relocate next week.
Two whole-grain Eggo waffles for breakfast with milk. Peanut-butter sandwich and pears for lunch. There's a lasagna in the oven for dinner tonight, but I will try to keep the portion size light and go easy on the bread and hold the wine to one glass. I've had some luck in the past with the theory about not eating anything after 6 p.m. Of course, Karen, with your schedule, it would be hard to figure out your "6 p.m."
Weigh-ins should definitely be done weekly... too much fluid retention from day-to-day. Of course, I peek daily but only write it down once a week.
Reduce sugar as much as possible, and reduce eating after 6 p.m. That's my strategy this week. We'll see....
Carmen, did you get your salad, chicken, and Slimfast?
Okay, I'm in for the 5 and I'll raise ya 2. (dang, I have been married to your brother too long!)
Anyway, I would like to lose, okay, 7 pounds by the 23rd.
For those of you who don't know-which I am guessing everyone- Kyle and Mary are moving to Utah at the end of the month. I will be helping them with their move. So, it would be nice if my a** was 7 lbs. lighter. Knowwhutimean?
I did lift some 3 lb. weights while watching "Samantha Who?" tonight. Plus, I walked on the treadclimber. But, the boy scout popcorn came today. Geez, does it ever end?!
Who said Kyle and Mary could move that far away???!! Was there a vote?? Why are they moving to Utah?
And 7 pounds by the 23rd?? That's less than two weeks! What's your strategy? You could do the South Beach diet for two weeks. It's good for about a 10 pound loss, but it makes you cranky. And the 10 I lost did find their way home again.
So what's your plan, Donna?
Oh, just sit back and learn Linda! These d*** kids get up and move to the other side of the universe without any concern for the flood of tears a mother has to shed in response to such a thing!
Jayma will probably leave the country!!
If we've raised the bet to 7 pounds, I may have to dust off my South Beach book. I'm going to hold out for the 27th though. The 23rd is too close for comfort!
So when y'all peeked at the scales, was the number less today than yesterday? Mines tipping in the right direction! I'm resisting the Cokes in Mom's refrigerator, but the Snickers screamed too loud to be ignored. I had one bite size. Tomorrow, I'm going to resist the Coke and the Snickers.
15 days...
Yesterday I ate a fun-size Twix bar and tonight I ate a bowl of Banana Split ice cream after supper. Before that the scales were starting to whisper sweet nothings.
Tomorrow I will be strong! Reduce sugar! Reduce portion size!
Where's Donna? Eating boy scout popcorn??
Karen, it's a shame Kaitlyn probably doesn't even read this anymore cause that was a pretty good guilt trip.... almost brought a tear to my eye.
I did make it to the grocery store and stocked up on produce and slimfast bars. However, today has not been a good day.
I spent the morning doing jury duty. I had never done it before. I didn't even get called as a possible juror for anything. I just sat in this big room and visited. It was fun! And I ate lunch. I looked for veggies, but all I found was a potato . . . a fully loaded potato.
Then I came home and shopped on Craigslist for some gently used carpet for my bedroom. I found this rich couple that had removed their beautiful Berber carpet and put down hardwood flooring. They wanted to do the green thing, so they listed their carpet and . . . Voila . . . I now have some of the fanciest carpet I've ever had. However, some friends helped me get it home which then led to dinner out which led to Fuddruckers and a hamburger and a really delicious milkshake.
I don't think I'll weigh tomorrow.
I resisted the concession stand during two basketball games while Jayma cheered last night. The scales are whispering sweet nothings this morning! Two pounds down! Three to go! Heck, I may even go for the extra two pounds to match Donna.
I'm down two pounds. No soda pop in days! I might actually lose another five by the 23rd. This is so much easier knowing y'all are suffering with me.
Donna, are you getting in shape for the move? Just 9 days left! Have you finished the popcorn yet?
Carmen, congratulations on the new carpet. Are you back on track to lose weight today?
I'm going to eat my supper. No dessert!
