Testing for Technologically Challenged

I've never blogged before . . . I didn't even know what a blog was. I'm feeling very 21st century now!!!

With a 25% weight loss, I would weigh about what I did after having Megan. I might need more like 75%.

I need a 30% loss to weigh what I did when Jayma was about a year old. I haven't been able to buckle down to repeat phase one of the South Beach Diet. It drops 10 pounds off of you and reduces fat around the middle, but it makes you cranky and you have to do much grocery shopping and cooking and snacking and planning. Instead I have reduced portion sizes and the amount of sweets and sugary drinks over the past 2-3 weeks. I've shaved off about 3 or 4 pounds and seen a number on the scale that I haven't seen in a few months. I feel optimistic.

I need to start walking and climbing Pinnacle Mountain again. After walking so much last year and completing the half-marathon, my cholesterol level was 205 (doctor prefers 200 or less). After not walking much in the past 12 months, my cholesterol reached 222.....must be retested in three months. I think weight loss and exercise would help greatly.

So what's everyone else trying?

My latest plan is the YMCA. It's about 1.5 miles from my house. I could get a 3 mile walk and a workout. . . . Maybe I'll just start with the walk.
