I'm watching the weather channel and reading news feeds about the storms that are stretching from east Texas to Virginia. This is a status check - is everyone alright? I heard about some tornadoes in Arkansas that were bad. What's it like over on that side of the country?
A friend sent me text asking if I'd heard anything from my family and I realized I hadn't. No news is good news...right?

Shadow is most unhappy about the storms! Other than that we're all just fine.
I've wandered through at three in the morning and found your message. All is quiet around here now. Rest easy out there in California. Or worry about your earthquakes. Now, there's a legitimate concern!
Did you know that one worrier per family is all that's required in this life? And I'm it for us. I claimed the position years before you were even born. Believe me, I've got everybody covered. Every night - the minute my head touches the pillow - I start with Tony's bunch and work my way straight down through Honey Gail's bunch and I don't leave out one single soul. Worry. Worry. Worry. Sometimes - just to keep my worrying skills in good working order - I fret over animals too.
Tonight I'm worrying over poor little Chase. I just found out that Honey Gail spanked him. Probably happened weeks ago, but I've just gotten the news. Poor little fellow.
All is well in Arkansas. And Chase needs no sympathy, except perhaps for the bad home haircut. And that's his own fault, too, because of his ugly attitude at the groomers.
